Belgian PM's Official Visit to China | 比利时首相结束访华行程
To celebrate the 45th Anniversary of Sino-Belgian diplomatic relations, Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel paid an official visit to Beijing from 30 October until 1 November.
He met with President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang and Zhang Dejiang, Chairman of the National People’s Congress.
Economic relations between China and Belgium were a main focus of the visit. Prime Minister Michel met with top Chinese CEOs, Belgian professionals active in China and assisted at an Economic Forum hosted by Insurance Group Anbang. In total, more than 20 agreements have been signed between Chinese and Belgian businesses.
But it wasn’t only about trade and investment. The Prime Minister also visited the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in the 798 Art District and gave an appreciated speech during a garden party at the Belgian embassy in front of around 500 guests. This was also the occasion to present the construction project of the new embassy.
In conclusion, a short, intense and highly successful visit, which represents a solid step towards a shining future of Sino-Belgian relations.
