Luxembourg Minister for Finance at the World Economic Forum
Pierre Gramegna, Minister of Finance, participated on June 27th at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Tianjin, China, this year’s edition focusing on the 4th industrial revolution and its impact on the economic, social, cultural and environmental levels.
Promoting Luxembourg’s leadership and know-how in the fin-tech industry and its recognized role as a Bitcoin hub in Europe, the Minister of Finance participated in a panel discussion entitled ‘Unblocking the Blockchain’, dedicated to the development of the blockchain and its practical applications.
Underlining the blockchain’s disruptive power for the financial sector, the Minister also pointed out the importance of Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures, fight against fraud, money laundering and terrorism financing.
Discussing with Philipp Rösler, Managing Director of the WEF, on the sidelines of the event, the Minister exchanged views on the Brexit and its implications for the world’s economy.

为推广卢森堡在欧洲金融技术方面专业的领先地位并作为比特币的欧洲中心,财长阁下参与了主题为《疏通数据区块链》的专家讨论,聚焦数据区块链的发展及其应用。
在强调数据区块链对金融行业冲击性革新的同时,也指出充分了解客户(KYC)程序、反欺诈、反洗钱以及防止资助恐怖主义等方面的重要性。
会场外在同世界经济论坛执行董事Philipp Rösler的交流中,财长分享了其对‘英国退欧’的观点及其对全球经济可能产生的影响。
